This is starting off really great, but it took a sharp downturn as soon as smug, boring, annoying Lou and Cullum showed up. I'm guessing they are leads from previous books....previous leads make terrible supporting characters! I really wish authors would stop doing this.

Luckily the heroine is about to go off into the wilderness so hopefully the story will get good again.
