I was invested until the Skol, which I found boring AH and skimmed. Honestly, I didn’t see the point especially since she didn’t really want Cas or to be queen.

Could Lieke be more pathetic? This is a typical YA angsty first crush “I love you even though you won’t give me the time of day” story. Barf.

Well, I don't love the attitude that is always spewing out of Sadie's mouth, although I (somewhat) understand it. And her idea of "owning her sexuality" is a bit toxic and self destructive. But I love how she is trying to care for her younger brothers at the expense of her own life, and how she tries to help Rhys with his panic attacks. This book somewhat reminds me of Mariana Zapata's "Wait For It,"

I really only read this book to re-read how Gabriel and Chiara met.

Very well written. Full dimensional, well rounded characters that has beautiful growth throughout the story.

The only reason I didn’t rate a 5 star was because I thought her reason for the “break” was ridiculous.

Twist at the end for why she woke up knowing all about Devi was amazing!

A little grossed out by the age difference here, and also how unattractive Sage is - tatted everywhere (including her face), pierced and dyed. And apparently Beck digs it.

Lina initially comes across as bitter with a very hard headed humor. She also, at least to me, doesn’t appear to treat Aaron well at all. We get the sense from the author that this is because he has treated her poorly in the past, and yet we don’t experience that.

I would say that this is a familiar feel to the Kate Daniels series, which is one of my favorites. Strong, independent female, with magic that has been mysteriously bound. Alpha male that is at first controlling and stand offish, but also protective of his people.

I can’t say that I am a fan of novels where wish fulfillment is the plot pacer. I would rather have a realistic romance, or at least a relationship that progresses at realistic pace. Kendall is at the high end of my tolerance level for bullshit drama. She jumps into bed with Logan immediately - twice! - and then doesn’t understand when he doesn’t call her after. And the misunderstandings run amok.
