It’s good. A bit boring though compared to the first.

Hmmm the book is interesting but also started to get annoying. Put it on hold for a bit.

Ugh. I am having a really hard time with this one. I’m going to finish it so I get my book count but definitely not interested in continuing. I’m not sure if it’s the narration or the story but something is making it hard for me to finish. I listen to the audio on my hour drive to work and home.

Something weird is happening with the audiobook. Its supposedly narrated by two well known narrators but some of the words are being read wrong and the narration just read the title of the book as it was going from one page to the next. Very disappointing!!!

Violet: “I felt a surge of anger toward him and his pig-headed need to sacrifice himself for me. It was irritating that he felt this need to save my life all the time, which had been what had fueled me to completely disregard his sacrifice and rescue him. I made a mental note to talk to him about that later—if we survived.”

Viggo: “I felt a surge of anger at her for disregarding my noble self-sacrifice. I was literally sacrificing my life for hers, and she was still risking her neck to save me.”

I really am trying to get into this book. It’s simply not interesting. I can see how the series progresses with each characters love interests. But the plot so far is just so basic. I’m only a few chapters in and I know the outcome. Not sure if I will finish this one.

I’m really not liking Aspen’s character. She seems more self-centered to me. Hopefully her character gets better.

I just finished chapter 8 and so far I’m not a fan of Aspen’s character. At this point, she seems more self-centered.

For someone in danger, she doesn't seem to be very concerned about her safety. I also feel like the story is missing important information. Some of the facts said by the character about herself seem much more important but at this point appear to be glossed over. Hopefully, there is more of a backstory coming.

I just finished the first book Awoken and it was good. There are few things that I am uncertain about but overall a very interesting start of the series. I am glad that the author added in the missing chapters because they definitely set the tone for the book.

I just finished Mr Perfect. It was ok. I am hoping the next read, Mr. Romantic has a bit more to offer in the sense of character development.

What just happened…why the round of applause? That is just so awkward….

Wow there are so many issues with what just happened…

Umm this isn’t how promotions work in a real business environment. I think that is maybe what’s throwing me off but still uncertain.

I really can’t tell if I like these characters. They seem…weird.

Hmmm that was interesting but also so confusing.

Wait I am confused. What’s her relationship with Heath? She said they were just working up to a date but yet the stuff she is texting him is next level crazy.

Hmm Elle is a bit annoying. Happy about the direction of their relationship at one point and then having to “process” it the very next moment. Plus what guy is going to notice that “something” is different even though they have only been together for about 2 weeks at this point.

So far it’s oddly and extremely descriptive which is a bit annoying. For instance:

“Are you kidding me?”
That was Levi.
He was on his phone and he was not happy.

This could have been written so much better. It’s just too descriptive with things that we can basically assume. Why do we need to be told that before Levi headed outside to his truck he had to stop in the kitchen to get her keys off the island.

OMG, this book has me torn. I can't help but feel that there is more to Maven and his generosity. I also can't decide if I want to root for Cal or not. I am torn.

Wow so much has happened. However I can’t help but wonder if sneaking off with Him won’t lead to bigger issues for Mare. Even though He is only trying to teach her how to dance. I feel that something dramatic is about to happen because of this.

I knew there was more to Cal! So very interesting. That purple fence though will definitely have more of a part to play. It’s just too ominous.

So apparently the author uses a character's name before actually revealing the character's name.

For instance, when we meet the prince the author calls him the prince or refers to him as the boy. then uses his name to tell us how he is feeling before we learn what his name is.

This book is good so far however the writing style is making it a difficult read. I feel like the POV keeps changing mid-paragraph. One sentence will be in first person and the next is in third person.

I realize that this is a spinoff of the Percy Jackson series. Since I haven't read that series, I am temporarily shelving this book so that I may read the other series first.

I have decided to shelve this book for the time being. I don't believe I will be able to appreciate this book at this time.
