I absolutely hate hatehatehatehatehate miscommunication trope in books. If the conflict is resolvable by simply communicating but it is dragged out, that’s lazy writing and I don’t care about millions of five star reviews. I’m half way through, and I have a strong urge to DNF this one.

I’m not loving this.

Enough with scenting, claiming, purring and growling. The smutty parts - SJM is trying too hard. It isn’t erotic nor sexy, just really cringe. I can blame only myself for this because I did promise that I won’t read SJM anymore but here I am. I even considered DNF-ing this, but I’m actually curious how the storyline will go besides the smut, however, I’m pretty sure I already know that.

MUST-read! A bit slow read for me because it is a lot to comprehend and reflect upon to fill out all the parts in my knowledge that generally white-written history has left blank.

I think you can write an adult novel without making it sound cheap in a juvenile way, which is ironic because this is her transitioning novel from YA. I have loved SJM's previous works and I hope this will get better. Or this will be the first SJM`s book I do not like.
