The book starts out slow, building its world by introducing characters and their past. I’ve come to the part where it all comes together in a fictional ‘now’. For the first time in a long while, I am reading this with pencil and page markers by my side. It is a more intense way of reading and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Massive audiobook. But I am halfway. Well written and interesting so far.

Incredibly hard read because of the subject matter, but very well written. I don’t know if I can listen to the rest now or if I need to take a break.

I will not finish this book. Too much graphic gratuitous violence.

Saskiasauce is on page 123 of 464 of Coercive Control: How Men Entrap Women in Personal Life (Interpersonal Violence)
This is an incredibly important book that will no doubt influence my work the coming year. It starts with the history of the movement against domestic violence and how this had contrasting expressions in a more activist and a more therapeutic discourse.

Even after just a few chapters I know this book is going to stay with me. The history of how the policies around domestic violence have become what they are is so interesting.

The narrator of the audio book does a stellar job except the female voices. Especially Tannie Marina. He makes such a caricature of her that I don’t know if I can finish the audio book.
