So we've hit the first murder in the book, so about... 1/4 through? And my money is already on the un-natural dryad child who was morphed into the computer system after her tree was chopped down. Willing to bet that the three was needed to actually feed her so now that it's not doing that, she's eating people. Let's see how correct I am!

On hiatus because protagonist is about to do something dumb and I just can't find the mental spoons to deal with it. The only problem with re-reading books I guess is knowing that some sh!t is coming up that is totally avoidable... >_<

Hecate's Eye - P N Elrod - a between the books story involving the vampire detective Jack Fleming. Was a wonderful surprise to find it in this collection!

Apparently she calls the big Loner dude "Big Jak". Doesn't... doesn't that mean she's just calling him "Big Man"? Big Dude? Big Fella?

Was right about the Big Jak. Apparently he's guarding the mythical planet because it's such a let-down he's afraid the entire race of Jak's will die.. ?

What'd I just read?

Bit lost in the beginning, have gathered that a "jak" is a kind of human or descendant of humans (confirmed from goodreads synopsis), that "jinking" is possibly telekinesis? and I... think?... when they go from "D-2" to "D-3" these are ... maybe dimensions? Unclear. Assume will find out. Also, I'm with the.. .. horse-thing, I think Jade is being manipulate.

Vol:1 is the pretty much the same as the slim volume Requiem for an Elf, except that the first story in the slim is all written word, with occasional full page pictures and in this volume it's a comic.

Some changes in the story happened when it went to comic, some I liked - Luse's interactions with the Demon for one. Gretchen's bit was cut short though, which is sad.

DARK WITNESS by Charlaine Harris & Rachel Caine - well, that's a ... downer. This wee story is about creatures who pretty much sound like demons with "piss yellow" eyes who go around raping women who are the descendants of angels in order to have a son who they can then transfer their being into when their current host gets old.

So now I'm putting this book down and going to read some Tamora Pierce for a wee bit.

Technically book #7. I gave this a 2 star evidently so I don't know if I'll like it or if I'll even keep it.
