One thing ive been noticing is how he is particularly harsh on the evils that religious people commit. He does this with such fervour that the obvious retort pretty much stands: the people don’t make up the religion. Yes, the religion ALLOWS for these people to be self centred and callous which allows them to be murderous/ torturous, as well as providing them with divine protection while doing so.

Whoops forgot to force myself through this

Dense paragraphs about shit like ranks and planes and military jargon that no one with a life would care about interjected with conversations so stupid they’re often funny. Will force myself through this 🤞

This is pulling me back into a reading slump UGH

Debating on if i should even give it up at this point because i think most of it has been spoiled for me already and this book truly has nothing to offer other than plot. No insights, commentary, not even jokes. I don’t think i’ve ever read a book like this because even roald dahl had a very developed and unique voice. This writing is mechanical in the truest sense. It begs to be a blockbuster slop movie.
