this book demonstrates why you should be at least 60 years old before you write a memoir

the author is ignorant, petty, + unwise lmfao

Summary: a young woman writes a book relentlessly criticizing her chronically ill mother. author has moved away to China, leaving her widowed sad mother in Venezuela, and feels some guilt about this, which she blames on Hugo Chavez.

Egh this book is so bad. The only way you could be impressed by it is if you don't know anything whatsoever about 1) Venezuelan history or 2) economics...

But I challenge myself to finish it in order to hear someone else's perspective and learn about a totally different life than mine... it's best not to just remain in an echo chamber of people I already agree with
