The game of good politics makes it much more difficult to be humble, responsive, and creative. No one can HAVE [good politics]. Joyful common notions can never be possessed, they can only be developed and sustained collectively. They are shared powers that grow through relationships and struggles. When held up as a badge of honor or gripped as an identity, they die, detached from what animates them.

Unitarian Universalism is faith in people, hope for tomorrow’s child. It looks not to a perfect heaven, but toward a good earth. It is spiritual responsibility for a moral tomorrow.

We must undertake realistic + principled actions now that will help build our cumulative capacity for revolution in the future ... we do not yet possess the capacity for revolution, otherwise we would have seen a unified mass movement ... And yet, we have very little time to get there. This is the contradiction and the duty of our generation: decolonization or extinction.
