The corpse of the man is back in Quebec city. Ogopogo is deadly. We’re pretty sure that Rita killed sis. Everyone is getting out of town because of the big forest fire and because Ogopogo is coming . We find out what happened to sis during the week before she died. Lori is on to Rita. Babs is waiting to be killed.

Babs holds it together during the 4th of July parade. Agreement with The Man. Babs has a stiletta Rita handed in secret. No stab. They agree to be owned by Ogo. But Bruce shoots the man dead. Where did he come from. Bruce wants revenge for Sis and believes The man did that.

Rex, the meth dealer says he didn’t kill sis. He wants Lori to find out who. Babs is told about Sis. She attends the Elite College’s fundraiser for the St. John’s school for the poor Little Canada kids. A trustee woman, Abigail, has reservations about funding an all white school because whites have no discrimination. Babs tells her about being raped, Sis murdered, how the college kids abuse the locals

Lori shoots up Rex the method dealer who killed Sis.
The Man & Babs talk, Babs tells him the history of the French in Maine, the oppression and exploitation and disease. She knows The Man doesn’t just work for Ogopogo, they’re lovers and the man wants to please him.
This is a microcosm of Ireland pushing back on the English

Lori saw Sis’ ghost . The Man has confronted the police chief, Bates. Bruce is fucked up.
Babs is like Santa Claus handing out legit prescription meds to people of the town. She’s a saint.
All the women in this book are bad asses

The man has entered the story. He’s like the villain in no country for old men or the first season of Fargo. He’s looking for sis. Who’s been paying a doctor to prescribe oxy. The man now knows that sis is the one he’s looking for, the one who has been flooding his bosses market with heroin.

Priam gets Hector‘s body back from Achilles. There is peace in the war for 24 days. 12 days for the funeral of pet patrol class. 12 days for the funeral of Hector. Priam is aided by Hermes. Achilles knows the gods helped Priam. Regardless, Achilles accepts Priam’s grief. Achilles recognizes the pain of this was

End of book 23. Achilles cannot start Patroclus’ pyre. He needs Devine help. Because he is too enraged still to mourn.
Then the funeral games. The antithesis of book 1. Achilles wants to take Antilochus’ prize and give it to Eumedes who lost. He stops after a complaint. This is what happened in book 1 with Bresies. Achilles changes. He maintains peace and honor

Book 22 - A race to death
Hector is dead. I would have preferred if Achilles had fought Hector without help from Athena who tricks Hector into standing to fight , to quit running. And for Achilles she retrieves his missed spear. Hector dies and his corpse is dragged around the city. Inside the Priam walls, Hecuba and Hector’s wife Andromache grieve. The corpse is dragged around Troy

Book 21 - the river
The River god Scamander (Xanthus) does not like all the corpses Achilles is leaving in the river. Asks him to kill elsewhere. Achilles complies but Scamander then decides he needs to kill Achilles to save Troy. Almost does but Poseidon intervenes. Then all the gods fight each other . Zeus loves it. Achilles gets the Trojans back in Troy.

Poseiden saves Aeneas, and Apollo saves Hector. Achilles goes on a wild killing spree. Last line: his lethal hands were always drenched in gore.

Book 19. Achilles is ready to kill. His horses tell him his fate: Bay says: certainly we shall save you for the moment. But your day of death is near you now. And we are not to blame…no tardiness or laziness of ours allowed the Trojans [to kill] Patroclus . It was … Apollo, … who killed Patroclus … but it is fated that you will be killed both by a human and a God.”

Book 18. - Divine Armor. Achilles knows that petrous is dead. He seeks revenge. He wants Hector dead and he develops a real blood last. He wants to slit the throats of lovely Trojan children. Hector ignores Palyfamus’ advice to retreat. Hector believes he can delay his fate. Thetis has new armor made for her son Achilles. It’s beautiful depicting a city at war and a village at peace.

Book 17 The most gruesome book in the Iliad. The Trojans and Greeks fight over the corpse of Patroclus. The body is dragged scraped fought over. Hector wears Achilles armor, which Patroclus wore. The Trojans want his body as a symbol of victory. The Greeks do not want to allow that. Zeus is sad for the god horses of Patroclus. Achilles will soon know. This war is now about blood lust

Book 16

Book 16 - sets Zeus’ plan for Achilles in motion. We watch Achille’s original prayer to Zeus via Thetis begin. What Achille’s does not realize but we do is that a cost of his wish will be the death of Patroclus. And Zeus pays a price. He watches Sarpedon die as a result of his plan to get Patroclus killed.
It is very complicated and all for what? Achille’s rage at being slighted

Book 15
Zeus gets Poseidon out of the war. He sends Apollo to heal and strengthen Hector. Zeus makes his plan clear: Patroclus will enter the war,
Patroclus will kill Sarpedon, Hector kills Patroclus, Achilles kills Hector.
This ends with lone Ajax, atop a ship killing Trojans trying to burn it.

Book 14.
Poseidon enters the war to help the Greeks who are near annihilation. Hira makes herself irresistible with Aphrodite’s help. She seduces Zeus and they have magical God like love. Zeus falls asleep enabling Poseidon to remain undetected. The Greeks pushback. Ajax injuries Hector. The Greeks succeed in saving their ships.

Book 13 - The Wave
Poseidon enters the war without Zeus, knowing. The Greeks fight back the Trojans. There are many bloody deaths in this book. Hector is described as Ares “the ruin of humanity.” Even Zeus hates Ares. He is a god of war, but of rampant destruction, war with no discipline. War that destroys to destroy. Unlike Athena, a goddess of war with purpose.

Book 12
After the war ends, the Greeks wall will be reclaimed by the sea. An eagle flies over the battle and drops a snake. Hector is worn that this is a sign that he should retreat. Hector scoffs at this. He is unstoppable. He breaches the walls. The Greeks run in panic to their ship. They have been routed.

Book 11 - wounded
Diomedes, Odysseus, Eurypylus ( saves Ajax). Hector and Paris own the battle. Achilles sees the injured. By the end:
• the Greeks are crippled
• the Trojans surge
Achilles is isolated• Patroclus is about to be activated. Achilles’ private anger becomes public catastrophe.
