Gregory is so fascinating to me, because she’ll say things like “I had a misogynistic view of Amy” but then she’ll portray Elizabeth I as a bratty, spoiled, incompetent ruler. Not the Elizabeth I was a perfect example of feminism (she definitely was not) and didn’t have major flaws, but the cognitive dissonance in which women Gregory chooses to be sympathetic to is just wild to me.

This book promised a Xmas seduction and so far there has been zero Xmas and one weird attempt at a seduction, probably will dnf here!
