Just reading the intro and the first few pages has given me chills. Yes, I know I'm a little more emotionally invested in his story, being a big Everton fan and having followed the U.S. team 40 years, but something tells me this will be a wonderful read.

I grew up listening to her, and she turned me on to so much great music. One of my all-time favorite DJs

I'm up to the part about RAM. I agree with the author that RAM is basically the blueprint for every indie solo and band record that has come in the last 15 years, but I don't agree with his opinion that it was a successor to Abbey Road. What I do like about the book are the direct interviews with McCartney the book) where he really does seem to be frank and honest about the breakup of the Beatles and Lennon

Good book – very detailed but not boring in the writing. Focuses more on the Asian and European points of view, but gives some American insight too. There’s some fascinating stuff about football in England in the 70’s and 80’s, and how it was ripe with hooliganism and racism. Glad he is looking at the history leading up to when the Premier League was born, but isn't pulling punches with criticism

Fantastic book. If you're a music fan, jazz fan, and especially a drummer you must read it.

Interesting book about the lower levels of qualifying for the world cup around the globe. I just wish it wasn't so anti U.S. and Israel. FIFA handles that very well already.

Great book that goes into detail about the recording sessions - especially anecdotes from all the players on the records. Love hearing that the title track to AJA was basically done in a take or two, and that Steve Gadd nailed the drum part (and amazed everyone at the sessions) on the first take.
