This second book is doing everything I wanted it to do and more. Even Chemish, who I really didn't like in the first novel, is amazing in this book. And even their non-binary identity is used incredibly well, all without making it obvious and preachy. Bail and Mon's interactions with their respective daughters are amazing, and the thread of the singer Quanaliko, who is one of my favourites, joins it all together
