It's getting sooo interesting. The build-up of the argument is that which leaves one on suspense. OK, I get this.. and this.. come on, tell me your idea.

"it is no mystery where our knowledge of abstractions comes from: it comes from conjecture, like all our knowledge, and through criticism and seeking good explanations."

No no, abstractions are the result of conjecture and systematic thought, not vice versa. *sigh

"Creationism ... is not a theory explaining knowledge as being due to creation, but the opposite: it is denying that creation happened in reality, by placing the origin of the knowledge in an explanationless realm. Creationism is really creation denial."

That will only be the case if one uses divine creation as a way to block further inquiry into how things actually come to be, which is absolutely not the case.

"The idea that similar laws of physics can be expected to give rise to similar environments is undermined by the very existence of fine-tuning."

Dear man, that is the question, why those laws exactly? The logical unnecessarity of the laws is an argument for and not against a creator.

Sometimes, one gets sick of the illogical arguments. Such the one that an ultimate designer's designer, really? Such deluded author get it wrapped in nice books and deliver it to us, ignorant, to consume as blind as we are.

For hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love
For love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith
But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting."

"There is, it seems to us,
At best, only a limited value
In the knowledge derived from experience.
The knowledge imposes a pattern, and falsifies,
For the pattern is new in every moment
And every moment is a new and shocking
Valuation of all we have been. We are only undeceived
Of that which, deceiving, could no longer harm."

it is the scientific law that is an approximate expression of the
physical event and which allows this event to retain its opacity."

This afflicts my soul, acutely. I ardently wish to see AND comprehend EVERYTHING.. to experience, in William James's term, an altered state of consciousness. Yet, a human am I.

"The experience of lying halfawake in a barred crib, in a labor room with other women moaning in a drugged condition, where “no one comes” except to do a pelvic examination or give an injection, is a classic experience of alienated childbirth. The loneliness, the sense of abandonment, of being imprisoned, powerless, and depersonalized is the chief collective memory of women who have given birth in ... hospitals."
