I’ve read a bunch of Swan’s other, non 40k books and they’ve been excellent. Hopefully this will be equally as good.

Ed Morgan is starting A Time for Swords (A Time for Swords, #1)
A strong start…

“But what of my life? I’ve seen things that people wouldn’t believe. A Turkic ship on fire off the shore of Odessa. I’ve watched sunbeams glitter in the dark eyes of the Empress of Roma, as we passed beneath Byzantion’s Golden Gate. I do not want all those moments to be lost in time like the winter snow when the rains of spring come.”

I am enjoying the references to contemporary British politics in this book a lot. It’s very 2000AD/Dark Horse-esque and I have laughed out loud several times. Most unexpected.

Back into the Malazan mythos. I love this world so much.

Still contemplating a DNF here. I have never DNFd a book in my life, and I’ve read some dross, but these Sando books ads really not very good.

This is so bad, but at least Troy Denning picks up the final 3 books in the series 😂

I want to like this more than I do. Arabian Nights inspired fantasy with excellent world building, but I’m not sure on the writing…

Reading this mostly because I’ve read the first two, and despite not really enjoying them I cannot leave anything unfinished.

I had heard great things about this series, but it’s just leaving me cold. This second book is a real slog to get through…

I’ve read this book before, but desperately needed a palette cleanser after 3 Cormac McCarthy books in a row.

This is one of my very favourite Black Library books. Chris Wraight is really very good. Not bolter porn, so if that’s what you’re after you should probably steer clear.
