This is the wrong edition. I've tried to change it three times but it's still displaying the wrong one. FYI I'm reading the Harper Voyager paperback with the flaming hand image on the front cover and sparks on the back cover.

Yes, it's book 3 and I haven't read the previous two! Our library is really random like that. Very rarely do they stock a whole series.

Already I'm getting the feeling that this might be a DNF. I know it was written in the late 60s/early 70s but some of the concepts are sick and creepy beyond my usual tolerance. I'll give it a few more chapters but if the sick content continues, it will be returned from whence it came.

I have to admit I'm struggling with this book. I dislike how it jumps around in time so much.
