I picked up this book earlier this month and after a few pages, I saw the news about the author. It's heartbreaking to continue reading knowing that the book was about her and how things turned out.

- “Why not just cut off your most prized possession and get a womb transplant? Get some seed planted in you?”

- “Can you do that?”

Those two are hilarious!

"Now you think I'm a terrible person."

YES!

"How is it that someone can bring out the very best and the very worst of you all at once?"

It was too complicated and the story was all over the place in the beginning. But I feel more invested in it now.

Do I like either Em or Chess so far? Absolutely not. Em sounds really bitter. She doesn't speak her truth, she doesn't set her boundaries, but she's just passive aggressive and bitter. Chess is a bit sketchy.

That's a twist that I didn't see coming.

“WHAT IF HE’S CONFESSING TO A CRIME RIGHT NOW?” Alex yells.
“RECITING THE DICTIONARY. FROM BACK TO FRONT,” I suggest.
“SOLVING COMPLEX MATH EQUATIONS,” Alex says. “COMMUNING WITH THE DEAD,” I say.

This is fun. And I miss travelling so much.

😰 About 2 more hours left in the book and it's already 2:30 am. This is interesting and creepy.

This book is giving me a serious case of travel envy.
