"How is it that someone can bring out the very best and the very worst of you all at once?"
It was too complicated and the story was all over the place in the beginning. But I feel more invested in it now.
Do I like either Em or Chess so far? Absolutely not. Em sounds really bitter. She doesn't speak her truth, she doesn't set her boundaries, but she's just passive aggressive and bitter. Chess is a bit sketchy.
