I'm enjoying the audio version, though having the people and place names in front of me as I listen would be helpful. This book pre-dates Dominion, which I found to be fair towards religion. This earlier text seems to have some hostility towards all faiths.

Thus far I’ve been pleased with the book’s focus on big ideas. It is a great, less expensive, alternative to other college textbooks. The drawback is less supporting detail/examples. But, that allows the professor opportunity for that material in lectures while the book provides the larger discussion points.
