This is one of those books that won't surprise me if I never finish it. Jesus... Cut the reader a break, man.

Verdict on this is still far out. Just hitting Chapter 3 of 6 of this first (only one available at this point still it seems) volume.

A still-compelling story that I keep coming back to, but every time, with a mix of love, "nods" and pure fury over stupid writing. When I have pages that in a single page, I've used all 3 of my highlighting colors of significance "orange" = story relevant, "blue" = I really liked or identified with the bit, "red" = what kind of dumb-fuckery excuse for writing or content (mostly craft) is this??, it can "frustrate."

45 is a total guess since this graphic novel doesn't seem to actually be paginated...weirdly enough...and I'm NOT counting JUST for a progress update.

I WILL say that this is one of the most aesthetically gorgeous graphic novels I've read in a while for art and architecture (possibly since Locke & Key).

Really...Someone please give me a legit reason why I shouldn't be loving this book (and Jenny Lawson in general) like I am... Oh, and if you try to, STFU. You don't know what you're talking about anyway.

I would be more sad that I'm nearly done if I didn't already have her 2nd book.

I still swear, there are massive chunks of this book that the author stole from my own life's story, changed a few details, and threw into her own book.

Oh, and she apparently stole my "voice" and mental processing that usually tells a story with no less than 3 ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY parenthetical asides and/or backstories.

I'd be done with this if a graphic novel didn't distract me for a bit. *SQUIRREL!*

Apparently my last status of around pg 200 didn't save, but at least the brief loss of inspiration that Nelson seemed to experience about 2/3 of the way in was thankfully brief.
