I’m really enjoying finding out the background that we never got as readers of Angie Away, like the dating attempts that were happening behind the scenes.

So far I’m really enjoying the travel parts of this book. I didn’t realize the book was going to include so much Christianity faith content, which usually would put me off, but I actually have found most of it interesting. At least the history parts of where certain biblical stories come from.

I gave up on reading and switched to listening to the Audible version instead. There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but I’m finding it interesting. I can’t believe this was written at the time slavery was still taking place on plantations! The ideals put forward and the sympathies with negro women having their children taken feels almost shocking for the time.

So far I feel very sorry for the main character, kind of feel I can relate to her, and feel intrigued to find out where this is going.
