So many loose threads, the ploy doesn't make sense. She's supposed to be at a school but all the sudden now they're hunters and on a case? Where'd that come from--she's supposed to be on scholarship at a school to basically hide out. How does Rufus know about her uncle--there was no mention of her telling him about her uncle yet Rufus mentions he's missing. Too much dropped in that contradicts previous development.

Kenna is so gullible/stupid, I lost interest -- she believes everything the headmistress tells her despite being detained there against her will by her "aunt." She doesn't question enough, doesn't critically think enough, believes whatever she's told until it backfires, and stumbles from one mess to another. Coupled with hot/cold fr Loch, fed up. dnf.

Venetia is an ineffective pushover. I'm over her failures to control her responses, much less anything else. I rolled my eyes so much I'm think this book is training material for it becoming an Olympic sport. Could this broad be any more ineffectual and useless? All she does is threaten and never does anything - all mouth and no action to defend herself or stop him from doing a damned thing.

I'm constantly wanting to quit reading it and find something else. I have no respect for the woman who keeps going on about how she handles her own issues and then just caves to whatever her daddy wants with no fight and very little argument. It all just came off as hollow bragging because the excuses for her inaction were lame.

FFS, this is another one of those that the title of the book should be "I can't help it," because she goes along with everything and barely puts up a fight on anything. Just f**cking refuse to go along with shit. RME, she's just a completely shallow libido driven doormat, but all of this author's female leads are.

It was driving me nuts, but I partly figured it out: the entitled man mistaking the spa/massage therapist for a happy ending kind of place is almost identical to Off Limits by M. S. Parker. The sentimental attachment to her father's car and it getting keyed, and complicated relationship with mom/stepfather sending her to new school is a different book I've read and I'll eventually figure it out too.

I'm only five pages in and I feel like I've already read this but I checked and I haven't so this is duplicating some other plot almost exactly.

I HATE plots that go back and forth in time. Just give a chronological story for Pete's sake. I don't want to be ripped from the story and thrown back to something else. It completely ruins the flow and breaks my connection to the story. It's irritating as hell.

Just cannot get into it.

Pretty much insta-love against all common sense given the cultural practices of the aliens. The FMCs are supposedly tough martial artist-types, but pollyanna-ish naive idealists. Story lines are pretty much formulaic, even the sex scenes are formulaic - they all have sex following the same pattern of progression, starting w/ cunnilingus, ending with the males' complete emasculation for want of the FMC. Getting bored.
