I have a huge to-read pile, but needed something lighter and have been obsessing on dragons, so I checked out "Fourth Wing" and got caught up in it. So far it reminds of Pern's Dragonriders' perilous bonding ritual, Miles Vorkosigan's physically fragile but very smart protagonist, and Curse of Saints enemies to lovers portrayal, but it's not a bad way to spend a few hours.

It's always such a pleasure to explore Shakespeare with the British acting greats. Every time I read something like this I want to run off and try to join the RSC. Or find a local production. Or take a class. Something to immerse myself more deeply in the plays in more than an isolated, intellectual way.

Frustratingly brief and oblique references to work and people I want to know much more about.

JHM is starting American Queen (New Camelot Trilogy, #1)
I read the sample of this Camelot update (book one of three or four) and was surprised by how quickly it intrigued me and pulled me in. Wondering if it will maintain its quality.

Slow going at first, but his entries get longer and more detailed as time passes. I'm struck by how social he was: so many entries about meals with friends, dinner parties, meetings, events. He didn't enjoy all of them, but he was part of a complex web of relationships and associations.

I've started re-reading this book for the first time in several years. . . although this will be at least the fifth or sixth time through. If I had to choose only one book to keep with me for the rest of my life, it would be this one. Your mileage may vary.

Slow going because there is so much to ponder and digest, despite the conversational style. I find myself speeding through it then needing to go back and re-read.

Started reading with Kindle Unlimited, bought it last night at the 33% point. This is my first exposure to the Chaos path, and I'm startled by how much I'm both surprised by and resonating with it.

I continue to be very impressed by this book, and am deliberately reading it slowly to absorb it as deeply as possible.

I can't figure out why this book is presented as being about Melisande, the princess of Jerusalem. She serves as a supporting character to the actual p.o.v. characters.

Why is this book so enjoyable?! I started reading the sample on a whim because of the cover, but then I had to download the whole thing!

The book is supposed to be about Melisandre, but I'm 7% in and so far the pov characters are a French sister and brother. So far, she is a supporting character in what is supposed to be her story. But the writing is good, so I'll see how it develops.

I had a bit of difficulty getting into this at first, but now I'm reading as fast as I can! Serdar creates some of the most unique fantasy/sci fi I've ever read.

Brene Brown for the Pomona College Book Club, Romancing the Shadow for my sudden focus on Jungian psychology and shadow/descent/cave psycho-spiritual work, and Unmortal because it looks like a very cool book by an author I really like.

I stumbled on this book as a Kindle Unlimited offering and am finding it unexpectedly delightful. It's a rare (to me) satisfying example of a young princess growing into her power.
