I've started re-reading this book for the first time in several years. . . although this will be at least the fifth or sixth time through. If I had to choose only one book to keep with me for the rest of my life, it would be this one. Your mileage may vary.

I just gave a copy of this book as a gift, which inspired me to re-read it. After the disappointments of GGK's last several books I am more aware of his distinctive style, but in this case it remains a unique and attractive feature. I remembered that I loved this book. I had forgotten how much I love spending time with these characters. Lions remains a book to treasure.
