I was excited to read a book authored by Nicola Yoon where the main character isn’t a teenager/YA. I wasn’t disappointed. I liked how complex every character was. This incited a new nightmare in me.

I like it!

I enjoyed everything about this book. My favorite was chapter six Fancy Things- Versailles. I pondered on “ There was a significant cultural shift in which it became imperative to proclaim that the ways in which we seek pleasure are justifiable beyond the simple truth that pleasure seems to be crucial to a life worth living” (Connie Wang, 163).
