This is my least favourite Backman book so far. There is some of his magic there but the pacing is off and there's less of the "heart" he put into his earlier stuff

Half Annihilation half left Hand of Darkness. Pretty great.

There is no writer alive that can elicit a happy-sad-laugh-out-loud-nostalgic response out of me the way Backman does. His writing is incredibly easy to read and yet incredibly profound in its impact on the reader.
