This is the darkest fake dating/ marriage of convenience book I’ve ever read! Loving it so far!

Did I request another ARC? Yes. Do I have time management issues? Possibly. Will I be reading nonstop & ignoring the world for the next few weeks? Absolutely!

I’ll be DNFing this one. Pushed and pushed myself and this has to be the most boring book I’ve read in a long time. DNF at 50%. Everyone says everything happens in the second half but I’m way past the point of caring. First DNF of 2026. 😖

Excited to do a reread with book 2 coming out! Also I’m going to her release party 🥳 so pumped!

Chapter 1 got me hooked 🪝

Loving this so far. I was nervous to read this because everyone said Powerless basically copy/pasted from Red Queen and there ARE a lot of similarities but I would not say it’s a copy/pate so far. I do find myself comparing the two but thankfully I don’t feel like I’m reading the same book twice.

I’ve only read the first 2 chapters. Wow I see why people say Powerless was a copy of this book. I can already tell I’m going to love this series.

Pretty predictable so far. This really could’ve been much shorter.

I printed a booklet of this for myself so I could highlight and annotate on paper. Also doing the audio for full immersion. And I just caught the Target edition of Brimstone on sale (BOGO 50%) 🙌🏽 Merry Christmas to me!

In the audiobook, you can hear the pages turning because she is reading a diary that she found and I kind of love it. 📖

I think I'm going to wait for the audiobook to come out. When I bought this, I couldn't find any announcement that an audiobook was even in production. But now that I know it will likely come out next year, I think I'll DNF for now but 100% come back. It's been sitting there on my
"Currently Reading" shelf judging me and staring into my soul but I haven't even started it. 0

Gothic horror to the max: Woods with untold monsters that eat flesh, crows that might be cursed, a crone witch, a deep scratch on a bone arch, an evil demon guy that tries to eat a baby to steal his power, two sisters unwanted by their mean step mother and one of them might be about to be sent away to a convent where they cut out your tongue. I’m only 4 chapters in y’all! This book is starting off running!
