Anyone read this series?

Not loving the character change from book 1, nor the precocious child. I was hooked after the 1st book because of the epilogue set in South Africa. The story of the Huguenots in SA is interesting: people came here to avoid persecution, they were not allowed to speak French... But this is stagnating. The bits set in South Africa are generations away. Not enjoying where I am.

Do I continue?

To DBF or not to DNF...

Really not enjoying this. I keep planning to DNF it, but end up reading on.

Gulp! This is not going to be the easiest book to read. Prostitution in South Africa, where violence against women is rife.

Only into the introduction. So far I think this book and I might bump heads a bit. While I might agree with her idea, she isn't delivering enough solid fact, but sweeping statements. Hmmm. I'll see how it goes.

Another rereading experience of prescribed setwork. This one is not tooo bd. It isn't brilliant, but it isn't awful - at least.

Yes. Reading this again. Got to love prescribed setwork. (That was sarcasm.)

I can't say I am enjoying this in the slightest. Appreciating some things, yes; but enjoying it - NO. I will finish this book this year though.

This is a VERY disturbing world to read. VERY DISTURBING.

I am REALLY not getting into this book. It is feeling so bland, and the commentary on women is so outdated. I have resorted to the audio book to get through it.
