I am afraid to pick up a Stephen King book, but this and “The Outsider” are on my list because they fit prompts. After reading all kids of books, I am struck by what a brilliant writer he is. I need to get over it and read more, but of course will continue with the less horrific ones first 😆

I am only to page 125, and with other reviews in mind I now know I went into this book thinking it’s a mystery, but in reality it’s a series of situations and character development that tell the history of the area in PA, and the people who lived there. Doc Roberts wanting to freeze time for white Christian men is a hauntingly familiar theme: does the Proud Boys and MAGA ring a bell?

This shouldn’t be a regular read. Need to buy it because it’s packed with thoughts and info.
