WTF is with all the teeth clicking?

This is an absolute brick. I expect it will take me a couple months to get through this.

Once again, I'm suckered in to a pointless read by a pretty cover. I'm 1/ 4 through this book and nothing has happened. It moves so slow, I think I'm experiencing their lives in real time. Countless pages devoted to the most inane conversations between people who are somehow married though they know nothing about each other (and are afraid to ask?) and endless description of shit I have absolutely no interest in.

I can tell the author is going for "witty" dialogue, but the MCs are both idiots so it doesn't fly. I'm about half done and it's (maybe?) just starting to get somewhat interesting. I can't help but feel there's a decent mystery to be had in there if only it wasn't playing second fiddle to a dumb as dirt, no chemistry romance. Maybe in the hands of a competent thriller writer this would be better than a harlequin.

This reminds me of Kingsley Amis' "The Old Devils" but with Indian, rather than Welsh, sensibilities. Every character is sympathetic while none are really likeable. Great audio narration, too :) I need to put this aside for a bit to prioritize challenge requirements and things that need returned to the library, but I look forward to getting back to it.

This is so bad I suspect it's intentional. Teenage Moses/William Wallace is separated from Princess Buttercup and must return to her. Hilarity ensues. This reads like a "worst book" or "most cliches" contest entry; it does for fantasy literature what Steve Mauldin does for Christmas music.
