A quote on page 230 I enjoyed truly:

“Why would you listen to sad things when you’re already sad?” “I dunno.” Hai drew circles in the pavement. “Guess it gives the feeling a place to stand in. Like a little bus stop.”

It takes a lot breaking away from the way you’ve been raised even long after you’ve moved out and started your own life. Educated makes that very clear.

I’m so shocked about all the incidents Tara recalls! She’s telling her story with strength which I truly admire. I just wonder if vulnerability is being lost in the process? Perhaps later in the book 💖

How are Tara and her siblings still alive? Child abuse at its ‘finest’
