I really like that we get so much more behind the scenes from Ramses, that it's not just Amelia's story. And the fact that they are getting away with their trickery is fun too.

Its not looking good for this one. I've sat it down for a while and just havent been able to get into it. The world is cool, but... characters are ever the same. We'll see how far I go.

I'm very much enjoying this book. I can see why it's rated amongst the highest ones of the series.

I also found an audiobook with a new reader and have been enjoying her immensely. She gives such character to Amelia and I love it.

I once read a review on one of Jane Austens books that all they did was talk at one another's houses and they found it boring.

So far this book is almost strictly talking at one another's house and the getting in a carriage to then talk about what was talked about. It's repetitive.

I had to change my mind set from "this is an adult book" to "this is very YA with feelings of Tamora Pierce". After that, it was more enjoyable.

Published in 1987 and it shows.

I didn't even read the back before I stated reading, so didn't know what to expect. All of the evil spirits/zombies aren't really my thing though it's a very interesting concept over all. I may not finish it though. I don't really do "bump in the night" kinda books.
