Finally reading a sad book for the first time jn two months 😃

Post Anne with an E depression = watching season 1, loving it, then taking a 3 year break from watching it cause the show was cancelled and only has 3 seasons, then finally finishing the show now and being sad that there are no more episodes to watch so I end up finally reading the next book in the Anne of Green Gables series.

And so the hunger games rereading saga begins!

This book has spanned approximately (more like literally) three conversations and yet I am still entertained. Dialogue filled and a joy to read when every other turn of a phrase is refreshingly unique and unexpected.

I just know that I’ll be revisiting this book again in the next few months.

I don’t even know what this book is supposed to be about but it speaks to me. I didn’t expect so many lines to be so hard hitting already.

i missed my fantasy era. only i forgot that my origin story are fantasy novels 700 pages thick. but here i am.

I guess I'm in a fantasy era.

The underground man, upon my first impression, is incredibly sadistic and masochistic. It’s almost sickening to read this book from the raw spite that oozes from the narrator. It’s not a particularly likeable experience, but it is intriguing nonetheless because of how novel it feels to be reading a rant aimed at attacking pretty much everything.

I take it back, it’s actually getting interesting now lol.

I don’t think I can bring myself to read this anymore…

I’ve always liked the idea of academic rivals, but in this book it comes across as quite immature… The fighting over 0.5% of a grade is really quite meaningless. I do find how hard the main character’s works a little excessive.

Also the main character’s lack of backbone is quite infuriating. However, I will keep reading simply because I am curious.

I fear I have accidentally ended up on the road of reading about absurd, self-obsessed men leading very dull, privileged lives.

I have only seen this book in passing and impulsively picked it up, but I'm feeling the satirical male critique coming (first Jacob's Room, then The Dead, and now apparently, this).

Best fantasy I’ve read in so long. Outstanding.

What other way to get out of a debilitating reading slump than going back to my roots with a fantasy novel. This is me trying to go back the seventh grade version of me who inhaled 500 page YA fantasy novels like it was a sport.
