Just finished Genesis. I can see why Joseph and the coat is what got made into a musical. It was the one story that approximated a compelling story with character arcs and potential lessons to take away. Though I was touched by the reunion of Isaac and Esau before that.

Genesis 17 really gives insight into how unhinged the biblical god is. Circumcision, changing Abram and Sarai’s name on a whim (at least the former got a reason for it) and promises that 90+ year-old Sarai will give birth after she already gave her Maid to Abram to get him a child, presumably without consent.
