Such an interesting read after BLACK IN BLUES!

The discussion of lithium mining on Indigenous in Nevada is very interesting!

I also want to think more about how “objective” topics like thermodynamics were products of settler science.

So far the chapter on civil rights and the John birch society is the most interesting to me!

So wild to me that while polygamy was being practiced women had a lot more opportunities outside the home because of the community childcare w/ sister wives. Women were going to medical school & getting educations. As soon as polygamy got banned within Mormonism… women’s education opportunities regressed within Mormonism…

But like there must be a better way to have this community care without polygamy???
