i tried but i've been dragging though this for two weeks and i just can't anymore... I might pick it up again when i get in in physical format in my illumicrate box and at least skim til the end (was an arc from netgalley)

Will resume this in audiobook when I get it off libby

i got approved for so many arcs today, this is going to be great

i really wish there was a plot... the writing is beautiful but is it enough?

oh boi.... I both love and hate this, but having read the reviews (also under 3.5 stars avg. rating) I'm pretty I will end up hating this. I love Dina and the magic system, but the interactions with the love interest are genuinely cringe (not to mention the writing being really repetitive) so rip another illumicrate special edition i guess...

I had forgotten how funny this book was and how much I loved the two main characters (no matter how aggravating they are)

Loving the Arin and Sylvia scenes, but respectfully, this book makes not sense when you compare it to the map at the beginning

Granted, my attention span has been all over the place, but the narration style of this story is really hard to get into. The chapters are super short and we never take the time to really sit with the characters

To dnf or not to dnf.... This book isn't bad (though the info dumping is a LOT) but i'm finding myself not wanting to spend time in this world and avoiding picking my e-reader to continue with this story. Paige and the plot are interesting but the vibes just aren't it for me

I picked this up as a distraction while I cook and drive but I’m so uninterested in this that I haven’t even picked it up as background noise. To the dnf pile it goes

I’m surprisingly not feeling this book at all… I enjoyed uprooted way back in 2019 and I loved a deadly education, but I remain a plot girlie through and through and I’m failing to see what the endgame here is…

I would have ate this up if I had read this when I was a teenager, as an adult though… 😅

Okay I think this is it for me… I can’t even push through this book because of how bored I am! Granted I’m in a bit of a reading slump but this is unbearable to read. The writing style worked in book 1 but here it’s just so uninspired. I’ll keep the first one and too bad for the sequels

Well this is a struggle to get through…. I don’t DNF sequels normally so I will push through but gosh why am I hating this when the first book was so lovely

Honestly reading this book is so random. I needed something to occupy me while doing my puzzle and this book was available through libby, it’s the oddest experience and so similar in vibes to ravensong (small town magic)

I hate to say it but i'm wondering if i'm just not smart enough for sci-fi (or if i'm maybe too lazy for the genre) but i can see how this would be considered cozy sci-fi with found family
