this dude desperately needs to get a grip

reading this on my own free will kicking and screaming bc i can’t avoid political economy anymore😔

in my trying to understand other people’s opinions (hate) reading era….and even reading the first chapter of this makes me want to rip my hair out. Sakai claims that the colonial states was all middle class, and then talks about indentured servants in the same breath. completely bad faith arguments, completely bourgeois ideas w no analysis of changing conditions and contradictions. complete mechanical liberal bs

listened to this all day at work and did not zone out one bit. a teeny part of me didn’t want work to be over so i could keep listening…will actually continue listening while i do my chores

lost my loan on this so i guess ill be back in ~24 weeks…

relistening to this heartbreaking but exquisite book. susan abulhawa has my heart

i really hate reading books about jewish characters and when the book forces israel into it for no reason<3

i don’t really agree with some of the anarchist politics that show up in here (non-violence, colorism, etc) but so far this is really good and has given me some interesting perspectives. only a couple chapters in but i already highly recommend

obsessed w the fact that the israeli guy is the absolute worst

absolutely incredible so far. so many lessons to be learned from act up. the organization of the book is a little difficult for me to follow at times, but that might be because i’m listening to the audiobook

i didn’t realize this was going to be a bunch of short stories and they’ve been sad before but i’m sorry pig son is so funny

can i finish this before it’s due tomorrow 😱

i’m enjoying this so far as a whole but god is the main character insufferable
