I am pleased that we continue with "this person who I respect and whose arguments are sound has told me that loving the fairy man/ dog is a damn foolish thing to do. He is right, by all accounts. NOT gonna change now". lol
Feel like they could have done more with the DeGrey character, but there is more book, and more books. Everyone is realistically flawed in this world. Also pleasant.

Undecided on how I feel about the new characters yet. I was glad to find that we didn't end up with the trope of our protagonist falling back into colder behavior after someone tried to "talk sense into her" about the love interest. She accepted the criticisms to be fairly apt, and then, indeed, felt foolish when her behavior didn't change. Quite refreshing.

We were suffering, briefly, from the "logically minded woman is oblivious to the comparatively obvious romantic feelings of the guy" trope, but Ms. Fawcett managed to play it off very nicely one it came to it.

Oooooh but this book is pleasantly verbose!
It suggests some romance at some point in the blurb, but so far no signs of it. One step off from an autistic protagonist- she's rather socially inept, but seems to grasp the why, so not a spectrum representation as far as I can tell.

I refuse to put this on my "did not finish" shelf, but I'm pretty sure my copy is caput, and I have no idea what page I was on.

Ugh this is so disjointed when I haven't read the previous volumes recently. Evidently these little shorts were all written at the times the former books were published, so the author had no way of noting her own repeated phrases. We've all got them, but short story anthologies will sure bring them out!
