'I don’t know how to do anything without Star. She’s not just like my sister. She’s like my mum too. And my best friend. And now she’s walked out on me and I haven’t got anyone.’ 😥😥

She picked up my hand and tried to make me hit her. My arm flopped back to its side.
‘I don’t want to hurt you,’ I said, sniffing. 😥😥

I dreamt we were on a rubbish cart, Star and me, and the dustman combed Star’s hair with their dirty fingers and licked her face clean and stuck her up on the front of the cart as their lucky mascot. But they chucked me out on the rubbish heap and I was stuck in the muck screaming for Marigold but she wouldn’t come. She wouldn’t come for me no matter how many times I cried her name. 😥😥

‘That’s sexist,’ I said, accurately but unwisely. 😅😂

‘I’m sick of being the eldest. I’m sick of being the one who has to try hardest all the time. I’m sick sick sick of it,’ said Star. Her voice was thick. I thought she might be crying. 😥

Victim blaming on pg.172; a woman should be free to drink alcohol with her work colleagues without having to account for the likelihood that one of them will rape her on the way home. Rapists are to blame for their choice to rape, not their victims. Rape is about power and dominance on the part of the rapist, not poor decision making on the part of the victim.

Someone smart, plz help - if the average results were:

"Weight loss: 7.1 pounds (some lost up to 46 pounds)
Waist reduction: 1.9 inches (some lost up to 13 inches)
Hip reduction: 1.7 inches (some lost up to 16 inches)"

doesn't that mean plenty of people must have actually gained weight, increased waist size, and increased hip size, over the course of following the programme? Or am I thinking median, not average?

The segment on religion is ... Yeesh. G-slur, antisemetic stereotype, plus zero reference to sexual abuse within the church. Glad it's over, I'm so close to DNF rn.

Lily Heron is 70% done with The Narcissist in Your Life: Recognizing the Patterns and Learning to Break Free
Contrary to what we are taught to believe, there is no strict life schedule. Understanding an abusive relationship, particularly with a narcissist, is especially difficult because of the complex trauma involved. Healing from trauma is three steps forward, one step back, one step sideways. It is common for childhood trauma sufferers to remain in a survivalist state of denial and self-blame well into middle adulthood.

Scapegoats outsider status, combined with inner strength and independent-mindedness that put them at odds with their narcissistic parents, can motivate them to confront the family dynamics and seek greater understanding and healing as adults. Highly empathetic in response to being bullied and trained to consider others’ needs, they have the potential to transcend narcissistic patterns and forge meaningful connections

"Scapegoats often carry intense shame, self-doubt, and self-destructive tendencies that hobble them in adulthood. Their long-term trauma can cause debilitating CPTSD and lead to ongoing health and financial problems. Family members may feel varying levels of concern or bewilderment about the scapegoat’s struggles or regard such problems as further justification of his/her outcast role."
