Apparently my Spotify deal limits me to a certain number of audiobook hours per month. I am glad I've renewed.

Thirteen pages in and I'm already haring away after archaeological research.

Reading The Lord of the Rings isn't quite like reading the Bible, with meanings upon meanings, but it's closer to that than reading the Greek equivalent, Homer, or even the Germanic equivalents Tolkien was so familiar with, like Beowulf.
Since he was SO Christian, you'll read the Bible better after spending time with his works.

Always a good re-read.

So, having jumped ahead and around to some of the more immediately pressing or puzzling subchapter headings a few times, I've begin to read this.
It's a fascinating subject, but easy to mess up, though I doubt Johnson will mess it up.

I jumped ahead to read the section on the valley of dry bones for a Bible Study. That was VERY useful. I am presently luxuriating in re-reading the table of contents and thinking about the organization.
