This is dense reading, but well worthwhile.
Heinrich Heine alone is worth reading about (an on-line flame warrior before there was an on-line - he died of an STD, but goodness, he could write beautifully, much to the consternation of German anti-Semites and Jews whom he spent time denouncing, generally his relatives, much like the viler Marx who only used his family as a source of money and comfort).
