I want to know how the parents in the story go from, 'what's happening' to 'they're dead' almost instantly. As a mother myself, I wouldn't automatically think 'that kid's dead'. That's the only thing that's not really making sense to me while reading this.

I get being friends with your ex, if you separate mutually, but it's kind of getting on my nerves that he's flirting with Bethen and still pining after his ex. Like pick one, dude.
