Also, another thought occurred to me. Is it possible that Rhine’s parents’ research was bombed intentionally, that Vaughn killed them? Rhine did say that she thinks Vaughn wants to be the first one to find the cure. So basically, if he can’t find it, then he’ll make sure no one else does either 3/3

I think Vaughn would want to kill Rhine’s brother not only because he is bombing his research, but also because it will hurt Rhine to lose him. Like Rhine said, Vaughn took everything from Rose so that she would be happy as Linden’s bride and not try to escape, and I think that is what he is trying to do to her now... 2/3

If my theory is correct and Rose and Rhine really are sisters, then Vaughn would probably know about it and I think that’s why he is so interested in Rhine and her brother. That’s why Rhine was chosen specifically to be Linden’s bride. And why he has become fixated on Rowan... 1/3

Ok this is a far fetched theory, but on page 194 Madame says that she knew Linden’s father, and that her lover became his colleague. I’ve been thinking that Rhine’s father knew Vaughn personally, and that they worked together researching a cure. WHAT IF Madame’s lover was Rhine’s father, Rose was their child, and Rhine and Rose are half-sisters???

I have a theory that Madame is Rose’s mother. I think that’s the reason both Linden and Rhine think she looks familiar, because they were the two people who were closest to Rose.

Somehow, I think Linden will turn out to be not as bad as Rhine thinks. I think the fact that he looks bad to her is why it’ll turn out to be a misunderstanding, because that’s how plot twists work. It just wouldn’t make sense for him to be exactly who she thought he was at first.

Because of Rhine’s birth defect — her eyes — I think there will be some kind of plot twist where it’s revealed that she was experimented on as a baby, or her mother was while pregnant. Like what Valentine did to Jocelyn and Clary.
