okay i’ve gotten to the part where it does get a little political, let’s see where it goes

damn this shit sad as fuck. I’m not gonna lie kind of made me patriotic for a bit. I legit started tearing up when they said their goodbyes, and I was in the train station. Listened to the audiobook on my flight. The narrator so so good despite the fact that I was listening at it 1.80 speed. I just love the way how the author writes the passage of time. Gives me Pachinko vibes by the fact that it follows a family.

holy, the dread through those few chapters of him and his father, an affair, and that bat shit crazy babysitter that wants to kill him. so uneasy. for some reason the plot is quite simple … or straightforward might be the better way to say it. except it isn’t at the same time. so good

very whimsy, it’s from the perspective of an adult man remembering, retelling his childhood. i found it very interesting because it’s an older perspective, talking about childish thoughts and ideas, yet there is sort of a layered truth to it. only at the 20% mark did i really get into it. and now, im really icked and scared of worms

not gonna lie I feel like she always talks about the cool people that she’s met or saw at these parties and offense less of how they are run and the inner workings of the behind the scenes you know I think I really would’ve loved if she gave her own insights of how the business works and
less than of this this happened and I saw this in this person

Most interesting part of the book is covering the political landscape regarding international and global publications, all measured by not the good work that you do, but if your country is a viable marketplace

I can’t tell if I love or I don’t like the mini stories that are weaved into the plot. I know it’s necessary in the type of book the last unicorn is but it is a bit jarring for me to read, although I do enjoy it sometimes but when I feel they are too long or too random it does become a bit tiring I really enjoy the book though practically five stars so far. i love the writing.
