Oh wow this is bad. I promised myself I'd start D.N.F.ing more often when I'm not vibing with a book, and life's too short to read books like this one.

I... just do not care about this book. It's been two weeks and I haven't even gotten 100 pages in. The prose is exhausting and nothing is happening; this book feels like it's trying to actively resist being interesting. Putting this one back on the shelf.

I crossed the halfway point last night and damn, I kinda... don't care... I was expecting a pulpy adventure in the vein of Indiana Jones, and it is, but the execution is not as fun as the idea of it. It's certainly not campy and there's some pretty gruesome shit going down, but this ragtag group of strangers who have zero chemistry with each other is just not doing it for me. Maybe I'll come back to it later.

Looking to dip my toe into a new genre; anyone have any science fiction recommendations? Preferably looking for something that A) is a one-off/not a series, and B) doesn't have an oppressive dystopian government as the main source of conflict. I don't have the mental stamina/attention span for something like The Expanse series, and I'm stressed out enough by my own real world government. Just gimme some spaceships!

Oof, I don't know about this one. I was looking for a genre palette cleanser, but this is just a touch too whimsical for my tastes. I understand that this book attempts to compile several different Arthurian legends into one narrative, but this prose is very old school, almost Tolkien-esque, which I'm not a fan of. And this is a monstrous +600 page book. Maybe I'll revisit this when I'm in the right headspace.
