Getting into the actual discussion of psychopathy it's at least interesting. The narrative voice is super obnoxious and it bothers me that he still is behaving like a couple days at a conference makes him an expert. I assume there is further learning for the narrator but he comes across only as gullible

And look I think it's just that there's way too much intro for me. The author's playing the part of the ingénu til he learns something new and is just astonished. I don't know maybe be cause I read so much about psychology isn't just too much a primer? It just isn't for me

You know Emile, it's really hard to feel sorry for your "abandonment" when you caused all the trouble in the first place by being deliberately selfish. People tried to help you genuinely but you screwed then over. But no you're the only victim ever of everything.
