WHAT THE HELL, MS YOUNG?

i thought it would be a swashbuckling pirate romance, and an enemies to lovers (koy would resurface later and theyd have to captain a pirate ship together, falling in love in the process.) i don’t know why i assumed that, but i’m disappointed. west is super boring and i don’t want him to be the love interest. i want koy to come back :( why was he only in a few chapters?

i’m in a slump.

this book is very long

and the series is long too

and it’s just not fun

might take a lil break and read something else

i hate rowan.
but if anyone can make me love him it’s SJM.

• this is so so good!
• the writing style is actually amazing
• these characters are so interesting
• i’m so intrigued to see where this goes

it would appear that rereading one of the best books of all time does not, in fact, kill my slumps.

so i’ll try another tactic and make progress on my TBR.

• this would be 10 times better if laia had died in the first chapter, she is the weakest and dumbest protagonist ever seen in YA fantasy
• elias is cool
• initially thought it would be a 3 star but it’s getting more interesting
• i’m feeling like it’s going to be a love triangle and also childhood-friends-to-lovers 🤦🏻‍♀️
