This one's gonna take a while. It's well-written but still could have been condensed a bit to make the story move along better.

First time reading anything by this author but it won't be the last time. He's really good.

This is a lot different than I thought it would but that's not a bad thing. I'm really liking it. Very strange but good.

Sooner or later I'll have to concede that Ralston just isn't the right author for me. Haven't really been blown away by anything he's written. The stories sound good but the writing is so bloated.

After an interesting opening scene, this has gone straight downhill.
The book could have used a better editor. For example: within about 8 sentences it goes from saying the neighbor's dog died last Christmas to saying it was hit by a truck on the 4th of July. How does someone miss crappy writing like that? I may not finish this.

Ever read a book where the behavior of the characters makes you want to ask them all, "don't you ever read a book or watch a movie? What you're about to do never ends well." /sigh

I'm not sure I even want to continue reading this one.

There is a tiny bit of interesting story buried under a mountain of unneeded and useless information.

Has a great build up to certain scenes but there is also a lot of unnecessary filler material too. Cut that stuff out and it would be a better story.

Total snoozefest with unlikeable characters.

Finally at the halfway point.
I feel badly that I'm not blown away by the final book in the series but I'm finding this a struggle to read. Maybe it's just as well the series is ending with this one.

Starting the section called Phase Three. I don't think I'll ever look at recliners, hoodies, or blenders the same way ever again.

Seems like there's a good story in here somewhere but it's buried under an avalanche of too much unnecessary information.
