After an interesting opening scene, this has gone straight downhill.
The book could have used a better editor. For example: within about 8 sentences it goes from saying the neighbor's dog died last Christmas to saying it was hit by a truck on the 4th of July. How does someone miss crappy writing like that? I may not finish this.
