good lord this dude is an asshole. the smarmy voice of the guy reading the audiobook doesn't help

I may have to stop reading this one, or at least put it on hold for a while. I'm about 45 minutes into the audiobook and most of the anecdotes have involved something horrible happening to animals and/ or their mutilated corpses. I might be ( in the author's words) a "sensitive PETA member" but I find it more upsetting than funny. :(

A book that most people read in high school. I didn't, so I'm doing it now!

How did I end up reading another book about the end of the world so shortly after Seveneves? (This one is about as different as can be, though!)
